Happy (B)Earth Day

This April brings not only showers, but a double celebration: Earth Day and our diamond anniversary. Yes, Defenders turns the ripe old age of 60 this month, and we’re not slowing down in the least! Back in 1947, we started out as Defenders of Furbearers with one person on staff and 1,500 members. Today, more than 140 scientists, lawyers, policy experts and educators are working to save imperiled wildlife and the places it lives. And we couldn’t do it without the support of the more than 850,000 activists and supporters like you who make it all possible.

Celebrate Defender’s 60th Birthday -- and Earth Day -- by taking a look back at our accomplishments through the eyes of six creatures. And stay tuned throughout the year for more ways to celebrate!
